Brinley's Room!

So i finally finished brinley's room! well kind of, the only thing left i want to do is put crown moulding up but who know's how long that will take to be accomplished. My inpiration for the room started with the cute poka dots i found in a jc penny mag. Of course i am always finding more things that i would love to add so i am sure this isn't permanent. (sorry there were just some angles i could not take good pictures of, so you only get some of the room.)

LUAU AT GRANDMA'S

Every other year mark's parents have a luau at there home. It has become a church ward event plus anyone else who would like to come and enjoy the food and entertainment. With this festivity they always have a HUGE pig in which they cook in the ground in their backyard. This year grandpa brought the pig by our house a day before the party so the kids could see it before it got cooked. We tried to see if jace would sit on it but he did not like it at all. After the ceremonial digging and retrieving the pig from the ground, we eat the grandious amount of food brought by the many that attend. Later we all got to enjoy watching the beautiful dances performed by the native islanders of Tahaiti. Their costumes were amazing and very beautiful- I think they had at least 7 costumes changes but i will spare you the many, many pictures. Mark and I went to hawaii last year and were able to see some of the same dances and yet they are just as interesting and amazing as the first time we saw them. Sorry about the mass amount of pictures but it was hard to only pick out a few.

A LITTLE R&R AT HOME

We usually never like to travel on Memorial or Labor day weekends, mostley because we would spend most of the time fighting traffic. This year was none different, we simply relaxed at home and went to the local parks with the kids. We did have a couple of BBQ's with some of our friends but that was the extent of our travel. Sometimes staying home is the best vacation!

PRESCHOOL GRADUATION!

Jaron had so much fun this year in preschool. He would come home and have a new best friend each week. I don't know where he learned what a "best friend" was but it was cute to hear him say " Mom, joey's my best friend" then the next week it would be someone different. Each week they would have show and tell and as you can see jaron probably brought his spiderman just about every time. The preschool year has come to an end and yes they even have graduation! They were all soo cute as they sang the many songs they learned this year for all the parents and grandparents who attended. Then they each recieved a photo album documenting each day of preschool and the fun activites they did, along with a tub of side walk chalk and other projects they had worked on. It all ended with some yummy cookies and punch and a lot of picture happy parents capturing their child's memories.

RECAP OF LAST WEEK- HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

( Jaron's flowers he made for me for mother's day at preschool)
Last tuesday jaron woke up not feeling good and within a couple of hours he was puking. Nice way to start the week! but to my surprise that same morning my wonderful husband came home early from work and took over. His project that day got moved and since mother's day was coming up he sent me out for the day! So off Iwent to pamper myself with a nice spa day. After I got my nails done and had a very nice hour massage, I then went shopping! It was so nice to not have to think for just one day of poopy diapers, sick children or dirty laundry. thank you my love!
I am so glad to have gotten that little vacation early because the next night I was up all night with jace. I think it is partly him teething with a cold on top of it all. so I got about 3 hours of sleep wednesday night and by the time thursday morning came I was a reck. After I dropped jaron off at preschool I went home and tried to lay down and rest at much as I could. I felt terrible and at the time I thought it was because of the lack of sleep. That night my throat was so swollen it hurt to swallow and I was running a fever that lasted thru the night. ( thankfully my husband came to the rescue again and was up with the kids that night while also taking care of me) the next morning I was at the doctors and getting treated for strep! ( 2nd time this year!)
Thankfully by sunday morning I was feeling 100 percent better. After church we went to mark's parents house and celebrated mother's day with the cousins while the men cooked for their wives. I am truly thankful for my awesome husband who is always taking care of me and our children and thankful to have such wonderful and gorgeous children who make me laugh and cry all at the same time!

BRINLEY'S FIRST HAIR CUT!!!!

I procrastinated a while before deciding to finally cut brinley's beautiful long hair but she really needed it. I have found just about everything in this child's hair that she could possible put in it( we even found shreds of carpet embedded in her hair while at the stylist). Finally with the pleadings of my close friend, who is a hair stylist I conceded to get it done. However I had very strict reservations that I was not to cut it short, but to just trim what needed trimming (mark loves his little girl with long hair) My friend wanted so bad to give her a cute A-line cut and was trying her hardest to persuade me that it would shape her little face so well. I stood strong and only gave in to letting her give her slight bangs. Brinley was very confused and I think a little concerned throughout the process but was a trooper! so here she is my little girls first haircut what a doll! THANK YOU SHEA!

UPDATE: Brinley now weighs 23 pounds at age 2 1/2 and Jace weighs 21 pounds at 10 months. Here are some recent pics of them together. when brinley sits behind jace and tries to hold him she can barley put her little arms around him! We always joke that she is going to be one protected sister when she gets older!
